Joe Biden was ridiculed this week after failing to get a response from former President Barack Obama during a White House gathering.
At the reception, attendees encircled jovial Obama, who had given a speech about healthcare in which he was mentioned 33 times. For the previous five years, the former president had not set foot in the White House.
Biden, on the other hand, appeared to be walking aimlessly around. Biden’s face is shown looking down upon the crowd surrounding Obama in the video. With a dissatisfied expression on his face, Biden swivels away alone.
Biden approaches and attempts to get Obama’s attention again later during the meet-and-greet. Biden, with worry on his face, reaches over Vice President Kamala Harris and grabs Obama’s arm from behind, attempting to turn him toward himself.
The video shows Biden telling Obama something that goes unheeded. Instead, while guests conversed with Obama, Biden gazed on with a frown, apparently perplexed at being overlooked as president of the United States.
The research staff for the Republican National Committee tweeted the video and phrase “Literally no one wants to talk to Joe Biden.”
The video has gone viral on Twitter, with people mocking the president. “Watch this video if you want to know who’s really in charge,” suggested Tim Young, referring to Obama’s popularity and Biden standing alone.
“Brutal,” wrote Mike Knowles on Twitter, when Biden was overlooked by the crowd.
Lindsay Wigo quipped that the snub was comparable to when “friends promise they’ll ‘be right back’ at the bar, but don’t come back.”
The scenario was like something out of a film, according to Joe Concha.
The attendees, said Robert O’Donnell, were happy to let the disliked Biden wander around because they like Obama more.
“Biden was completely overlooked again,” tweeted Tommy Pigott, “as Biden tries to reverse Obama and Obama totally disregards him.”
After the event, Paris Dennard said Biden was neglected a second time.
Biden, according to Guest, wondered why no one was listening to him.
