On August 2, a spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that Vadim Skibitsky, a Ukrainian military official who served as a representative of Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence in the Ministry of Defense, had confirmed that US government officials were involved in the Russo-Ukrainian conflict.
When the subject of American HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems was raised in an interview with the Telegraph that was published on August 1, Skibitsky avoided responding to inquiries regarding the origin of the satellites being used for strikes.
The Ukrainian official stated that the government of Ukraine is in touch with the United States before airstrikes are carried out. He also noted how the US government has veto power in making the decisions.
“No further evidence of direct involvement by the United States in Ukraine’s warfare is required,” Zakharova said on August 2. According to a TASS report, she claimed that besides supplying and training Ukrainian troops, the US government “essentially launches the weapons themselves.”
Zakharova claimed that the US government is deeply involved in the Russo-Ukrainian conflict, and its distance from the zone of combat is unimportant.
“They are fully engaged. Kiev representatives are now discussing their military involvement not simply in terms of weapons supply, but also in terms of direct instructions, personnel management in the levels of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and targeting decisions,” Zakharova added.
On a previous occasion, Russia charged the US government with orchestrating military operations in Ukraine, which it views as direct US involvement against Russia.
The State Duma’s Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said this in May:
“The White House is effectively orchestrating and developing military operations, which means that it is directly involved in war against our nation.”
Since the Euromaidan revolution of 2014, foreign advisers have allegedly been carrying out activities in Ukraine, according to Volodin.
The United States and its allies in the Collective West have increased military assistance to Ukraine through economic and military aid.
In Ukraine, the United States is clearly engaged in a proxy conflict against Russia. It will not result in victory for Ukraine, as it loses more young men and territory every day in Eastern Ukraine.
