Team Biden Pulls a “Ferris Bueller” In Response To Taliban Takeover

WH press secretary Jen Psaki is “away from the office” this week while Joe Biden vacations at Camp David — all as the nation of Afghanistan quickly falls to the Taliban in a complete takeover, Fox News has said.

Fox has reported that it sent questions to Psaki’s White House email on Sunday morning and then attempted to speak to her once again on Sunday evening — and each time they got the same auto-reply: Psaki would not be available this week.

“I will be away from the office from August 15th-August 22nd,” Fox News reported about the auto-reply. Others have gotten the same auto-reply:

Although Biden is vacationing, conservatives ripped into him for his absence during the huge disaster in a nation that was the focus after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks in the U.S. — a month before the 20 year anniversary.

“Biden has been president for seven months — the current Afghanistan failure falls squarely on his shoulders,” GOP Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has said. “His complete lack of leadership during this pivotal moment is shameful — it has only embolden our enemies and disappointed our allies.”

Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani left for Tajikistan, the presidential palace was then “handed over” to Taliban forces on Sunday, and U.S. diplomatic members were forced to leave the U.S. Embassy in helicopters — a scene that got comparisons to the end of the Vietnam war and the fall of Saigon.

Biden also reportedly “overruled” his top commanders when he approved the complete withdrawal of American forces from the country. VP Kamala Harris also had a “key role” in Biden’s decision.

What did people say about Psaki?

Psaki’s absence only gave more fuel to criticism against the Biden White House’s handling of the problem:

Biden has also given a Saturday comment attempting to put the blame on former President Trump for the Afghanistan disaster — after which Trump slammed Biden, saying the president “is wrong every time on foreign issues.”

It’s also been said that Biden will speak to the American people about Afghanistan in the “next couple of days.”
