Top Democrat Hit With An Overwhelming 21 Felonies

A federal grand jury indicted Florida’s former Democratic governor hopeful Andrew Gillum on Wednesday on 21 felony counts connected to his failed campaign in 2018.

“A 21 count indictment has been handed down by a federal grand jury against Sharon Janet Lettman-Hicks and Andrew Demetric Gillum, both from Tallahassee, Florida,” according to the statement from the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

Gillum claimed to be innocent while also implying that the allegations were political, despite the fact that he is being charged by the DOJ, which is led by the White House.

According to the indictment, from 2016 to 2019, Lettman and Gillum-Hicks conspired to do wire fraud by illegally soliciting and collecting money from numerous people and organizations through false promises and comments that the cash would be used for a true purpose. “The Indictment also claims that the defendants covertly transferred a part of those funds to Lettman-Hicks’s firm, which then fraudulently delivered them to Gillum as payroll funds for his personal use.”

Both of the defendants are facing 19 charges of wire fraud, the statement said. “Gillum is additionally charged with giving false information to agents of the FBI,” it added.

If convicted, Gillum may be sentenced to up to five years in jail for giving false information, twenty years for conspiracy to attempt wire fraud, and twenty years per count of wire fraud.

Marc Caputo, a senior national political reporter for NBC News, tweeted that Gillum turned himself in this morning before the indictment being made public.

The allegation validated that the charges are connected to Gillum losing his campaign against Gov. DeSantis, who has since winning the election become one of the most powerful political forces on Earth.

Gillum, who was married and has children, was discovered with a male escort and suspected crystal meth in a hotel room in 2020 when the coronavirus pandemic threw the United States into chaos.

“Empty beer bottles, plastic baggies of what was suspected to be crystal meth, and prescription pills can be seen strewn about rubbish and filthy bedding in the awful photos,” according to the Daily Mail. “He was found inside room 1107 with 2 more men: one a muscular 30-year-old who was a male prostitute named Travis Dyson that was naked and experiencing a drug overdose.”
