Democrats Are About To Enter Their Worst Political Nightmare

According to a new poll from Gallup, President Biden’s approval rating has plummeted to levels comparable to his physical condition during the 2020 campaign. Americans’ pessimism about the country’s future and the current course is growing, regardless of political affiliation. So how terrible is it? The last midterm election year when Americans were questioned and found to be so dissatisfied was 1974—almost a half a century ago.

According to the most recent numbers from Gallup, the president’s approval rating has remained stagnant since May, remaining at an awful 41% — a low it hit in April.

“Americans’ satisfaction with the country’s direction has dropped three points in the past month to 13%, continuing a downward trend that began in March, when 24% were satisfied. “Almost nine out of 10 Americans,” or 87 percent, are dissatisfied with the nation’s course.”

Despite Biden’s claims, the president’s own party is pulling down the overall satisfaction. They’ve grown so frustrated that the proportion of Democrats who feel things are going in the right direction has plummeted from 46% in March to just 24% in June.

Among Independents, only 13% are content with where America is going, down from 23% in March. Since May of 2021, only 8 percent of Republicans have been satisfied with the nations’ direction, declining to just two percent this June.

“After weighing all of the data, Gallup determined that the mood of the American people is worse than it has been in any midterm election year dating back to 1974,’ putting the Democrats’ U.S. House majority at risk,” according to Gallup’s analysis.

According to Gallup’s release of their latest polling, “Nothing has brightened that mood over the previous month – if anything, it has worsened, making Democrats’ bid to turn things around before the November elections even more challenging.”
